Services provided: Civil engineering construction
Scope: The construction of a 36m high steel frame building extension, tied into the existing concrete framed structure.
Works included shop applied intumescent paint to provide fire protection to the steelwork. The installation of composite insitu concrete floors, access platforms and walkways.
The success delivery of the project involved close liaison with Mechanical, Electrical and Process Installations during a 6 week shutdown period.
Also, close liaison with Network Rail was critical during construction due to the close proximity (5m) of the Derby-Crewe railway line.
