Princes Gate – Water Treatment Facility, Tenby, South Wales

Client/end user: Nestle Ltd

Services provided: Civil engineering & Building Services

Scope: To construct a water treatment facility for Nestle Ltd, to a newly acquired bottled water plant in Tenby, South Wales.

Works included the construction of a new treatment building consisting of a concrete base slab with stainless steel drainage channels, a cold rolled steel frame building with insulated cladding, internal blockwork walls and roller shutter doors. Specialist floor painting was applied up to DWR standards.

In addition to the building, a separate concrete foundation for stainless steel tanks was constructed plus additional stainless-steel pipework between the boreholes and treatment facility.

Unusual aspects: The works were constructed whilst the plant remained operational; extracting and bottling mineral water, resulting in strict segregation between new construction / alteration works and the operational areas.
