Project complexities, simplified by Alpha:
- Delivering works within a live MRF environment, requiring close coordination with site operators to maintain continuous waste reception and processing throughout construction.
- Undertaking the role of Principal Contractor, managing both civil works and client-installed plant, including shredder and baler systems, ensuring safe and compliant delivery.
- Integrating new process equipment within an existing structure, requiring careful sequencing and structural adaptation to accommodate conveyors and plant.
- Installing a large-scale fire suppression system, ensuring compliance and protection across both the new extension and existing facility.
Scope of Works:
- Construction of an 18m x 16m building extension, providing space for a new baler and bale storage operations.
- Excavation and construction of a reinforced concrete pit, designed to accommodate the baler conveyor system.
- Structural modification to the existing building, including formation of openings to allow integration of conveyor systems.
- Installation of a comprehensive fire suppression system, including a 695m³ water storage tank and pumping system, extending protection across both new and existing facilities.
- Integration of new infrastructure with the operational MRF, ensuring alignment with waste processing activities and plant installation.
